Brief Description of position and duties:
Looking for two INDEPENDENT music therapists, one in Fort Lauderdale and the other in West Palm Beach, Florida. Both positions are at various facilities in the county. The Fort Lauderdale position is mainly with Geriatrics, though will work with children with Autism. The West Palm Beach position is mainly with Children with Various Disabilities, though there will be around 10 hours a week at various senior facilities. In both positions, therapist will go to several places in one day. The time at any given facility is from 1-3 hours and therapist will be mostly leading music therapy groups. At some Skilled Nursing facilities, MT will visit residents 1:1 for palliative care. There could be 5 different facilities in one day! Travel expenses are paid. Applicants need to be independent in character and able to create and execute sessions by themselves. Props, instruments, books and materials will be provided.

Description: Member of Therapeutic Recreation Services. Role to provide quality music therapy group and individual sessions for veterans as well as support the provision of activities of interest to residents/veterans in the extended care programs. Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Job Title: Registered or board cerrtified music therapist. Cannot be a student, but one who has documented experience working with children. The music therapy care is not for recreation but for therapeutic purposes, related to the child's care and treatment.

Salary: $17.50/unit ($35./hr.) Therapist will function as independent contractors

Facility: In the patients private homes, any where in the Miami Florida area

Hours: One unit=30 minutes, May bill 2 units per day (1hr./day) Not to exceed 12 units/month (6 hrs/month).

Qualifications: Registered/board certified music therapist. This service does not apply to counselors who employ the limited use of music, art, dance and play in their counseling.Preferably bilingual and have worked with children in the past in a similair fashion.

Population: Newborns to age 21. enrolled in a pilot palliative care study known as Partners in Care together for Kids.

Description: Provide therapeutic music therapy to sick children in a home setting.
