Professional Membership is available to anyone who lives in Florida and works as a professional music therapist within the state or currently has the designation of MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified), ACMT (Advanced Certified Music Therapist), RMT (Registered Music Therapist), CMT (Certified Music Therapist), or MT (Music Therapist). Only Professional Members have full voting privileges, are eligible to hold an elected or appointed office, may be members of a Nominating Committee and have the option to be included on the FAMT Professional Referral List.

Associate Membership is available to anyone in Florida who has an interest in supporting music therapy as a treatment modality and a profession within the state. Associate Membership is also available to anyone who lives outside of Florida and to previously instate members who have moved but wish to continue membership. Associate Members may participate on all Committees with the exception of the Nominating Committee.

Student Membership is available to anyone who is registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at any college or university student in Florida. The student may be pursuing music therapy as a career or just have an interest in learning about and supporting music therapy. Student Members may participate on all Committees with the exception of the Nominating Committee, but may vote only when electing the Student District Representative representing that student's school or geographical District.

Patron Membership is available to any organization, foundation, school, institution, or business that has an interest in supporting music therapy as treatment modality and a profession within the state of Florida. A Patron Member will be allotted advertising and promotional space in FAMT publications upon request, and may choose to be publicly recognized as an FAMT supporter at FAMT sponsored workshops and other events. A designated representative of the Patron Member will be given one free Associate Membership.

All Members described above will receive all FAMT publications, have access to FAMT professional literature and materials, receive discounts to attend FAMT sponsored events and workshops, may participate as volunteer members on Standing or Special Committees, and are welcome to attend all General Membership meetings.
