Site Host Liaison, Continuing Education Chair, and any Conference
Committee Chairs. The Vice President acts as a liaison with other
health care professions within the state of Florida.

record of actions and decisions of the Executive Board of the
Florida Association for Music Therapy. This is a two year term
of office which is elected by the general membership. Major Duties
Include:

General Business Meetings
- maintaining
and ensuring effective management of the organizational records
Treasurer
The
treasurer is responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate
financial record of FAMT related business. These duties include
tracking payment of membership dues, workshop registration fees,
officer expenses, and FAMT expenditures. In addition, the treasurer
analyzes financial income and expenditures to advise the FAMT
Executive Board regarding anticipated monies needed for upcoming
events and approval of the annual budget.
District
Representatives
The
state of Florida is divided into five Professional Districts:
Professional
District 1 - The Panhandle
Professional
District 2 - The Northern
Professional
District 3 - The Central Gulf
Professional
District 4 - The Central Atlantic
Professional
District 5 - The Southern
Each
District is represented on the Executive board by a Professional
District Representative who is elected by the Professional Members
living within that district. The primary responsibility of the
District Representative is to be a liaison by reporting the needs
and concerns of the District Members to the Board and reporting
the business of the Board back to the members to keep them informed.
The district Representative recruits new members from within the
District and sponsors meetings and social events to foster a system
of networking, sharing, and support among the members in that
District.
Student
Representatives
The state of Florida is divided into two Student Districts:
Student
District North - The Florida State University District
Student
District South - The University of Miami District
Each
Student District is represented on the Executive Board by a Student
District Representative who is elected by the members of the music
therapy club at his or her university and by the FAMT Student
Members attending any other college or university in that half
of the state. The Student Representative acts as a liaison between
the Board and the student constituents in the same way as the
Professional District Representatives above. They also recruit
new members and sponsor meetings and social events.
Newsletter
Publisher
The
Newsletter publisher prepares the Harmony Herald Newsletter on
a quarterly basis. Articles are submitted by FAMT officers and
members. The newsletter is prepared for mailing and sent out six
weeks before the next upcoming workshop.
Parliamentarian
The
parliamentarian is FAMT's specialist in parliamentary procedure
and the FAMT Governing Documents ( the Constitution, the Bylaws,
and the Policies and Procedures Manual), and acts as the advisor
to the President and the Executive Board in all such matters of
concern whether in a meeting or while carrying out the daily business
of the organization. The Parliamentarian notifies the Executive
Board when the changing needs of the organization require revisions
in the documents, leads everyone through the proper procedures
to make the changes, puts all proposed amendments or revisions
into the wording of a formal motion, publicizes the motion in
the next Harmony Herald with an explanation and an accompanying
absentee ballot, receives the absentee ballots then presents them
at the next meeting when the vote is taken, and writes any subsequent
alterations into the documents. It is the Parliamentarian's responsibility
to be knowledgeable of parliamentary procedure and the FAMT Governing
Documents and to know of resources to contact for advice concerning
procedures not covered in the Documents.
